First Roast Complete 42/52 vol. 1 (SundayX)
| SundayX • Coffee
Fifty two Sundays ago, my weekly SundayX posts started on January 19th, 2025.
Tomorrow will be the of one year anniversary of our Sunday coffee chats.
The total of SundayX posts I published over the year is 42, if you have been following me then you know that number comes up for me often.
In The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, 42 is the anticlimactic "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything," calculated by the supercomputer Deep Thought after millions of years, but the problem is no one knows the actual question, satirizing the search for simple meaning in complex existence.
It's a humorous take on philosophy, suggesting the meaning isn't a simple number but in understanding the question, or perhaps that life's meaning is what you make it.
Adams stated he chose it randomly, intending to show how arbitrary our searches for meaning can be, though fans create deeper interpretations.
Though Adams intent was one of absurdity, 42 has become a source of much philosophical conversation and debate.
Also, Grok xAI is explicitly modeled after Douglas Adams' 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'.
Grok was named for the term grok, used in Robert A Heinlein's science fiction novel 'Stranger in a Strange Land' to convey a deep and innate understanding of something.
A word on the 42 SundayX:
These posts started as weekly news roundups and progressed to a deeper dive on things I find interesting with Grok's assistance.
After realizing X links don't share well outside of X, I transitioned to story telling, new poetry I'd written and sharing my perspective on various topics.
Don't forget, I also celebrated the 2025 Talihina Tigers first class A-II high school football state championship title since 1966! That's 59 years!
It's a remarkable story of small town grit & determination.
They had to miss a season and move junior varsity up to have just enough to play. They had an undefeated 18-0 season to boot!
Fingers crossed someone with a larger reach than I have picks this remarkable against all odds story up and tells it to a much larger audience.
(I had to give that story one more plug!)
What I do with SundayX after we have coffee:
After I post them on X, I blog the SundayX posts out to other platforms. Some are on Medium, Substack, & Hive Blockchain.
Most of them are finding a home on Blogger these days for reasons I explained last SundayX.
I guess I'm trying syndicating myself.
Metrics and readership has gradually grown. I'm not knocking down huge numbers and that's ok.
I'm after organic growth. Small numbers grow into larger numbers.
Impressions grow over time.
To get to the point of this special one year anniversary SundayX edition, thank you.
Thank you for every long form SundayX post you read, liked, and shared.
Thank you for staying with me and letting this oddball hang out in the wings.
I hope SundayX brings value to your feeds, I don't take my presence in your feed for granted.
Without you, these posts would have zero impressions.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for each shared cup of coffee with me. ☕
In gratitude & truth—

Here's to more cups of java in year 2 for SundayX, I'll keep writing from my heart and hip. ✨
