I'ld like to buy the world a coke this SundayX ✨✨✨
"I'd like to buy the world a home
And furnish it with love
Grow apple trees and honey bees
And snow-white turtle doves
I'd like to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony
I'd like to buy the world a Coke
And keep it company
(That's the real thing)
What the world wants today
Is the real thing"
-Coca-Cola jingle later released as a full length song by The New Seekers in 1971.
Doesn't this song take you back in time?
It does me, I was a little girl when I heard it for the first time.
We are so imprinted by everything around us: books, music, movies, witty jingles like this.
I have no doubt hearing this jingle over and over on loop in the background of my formative years imprinted me deeply.
I don't think that's a bad thing either—
To have a lasting and lifelong desire to live in a world with all of us at peace & living in harmony with each other.
For the most part?
As best we can?
I'm talking optimistically here, there's always hope...✨✨✨
For this World Friendship day I wish I could buy all of you a coke!
I am my most authentic self online and much to my surprise I've found others okay with a dork like me. 😂
Here is where I let my odd ball personality run free unchecked and you guys accept me as I am—
And for that I extend my heartfelt gratitude with a virtual coke!!!
What jingles still run through your heads from yesteryear?
